More Blessings

I have been blessed to work with some of the coolest girls around. They threw a shower for Miles and I yesterday and TOTALLY spoiled us. I was having such a fun time at the shower that I forgot to take pictures, but I did take a couple of pictures today of how much they completely spoiled us. Thanks girls, we had a GREAT time. I am really going to miss working with all of you.

Homemade Gifts

I love homemade gifts and I wanted to post this pic to show you what my super talented sister Ashley made for Miles. These are two diaper bags that she wove herself (straps and all) and then sewed together and lined. Thanks Ash for the super cool gift.

First trip to Silver Lake

On Sunday the 6th, we make our first big trip out of the house and visited everyone at Silver Lake. Normally, we would have been vacationing up there as well, however, we didn't do our family planning very well. :o) It was nice to get out of the house and get some wonderful fresh air. Miles was able to meet the Silver Lake family for the first time as well as his Aunt Ashley (although I don't have pictures of her with him because she was afraid we was getting sick and didn't want to get too close to him).
We were such first time parents packing up half the nursery for a simple little day trip. When they blow through diapers at lightning speed, however, you just don't know what to bring.

Miles' tiny little hands next to Grandpa's big strong one.

Miles' first two weeks of life

Here are a few pictures from Miles' first two weeks at home. Yes, he sleeps a lot right now, so most of these are sleeping pictures. You'll probably also notice a common theme. He loves to "lounge" with his hand behind his head or around his chin. So cute.

Sleeping in his crib.

His Pooh hat is still a little big, so it turns sideways when he moves his head around.

Cracking a slight smile while snoozing with Dad.

I love how his face is all squished on the one side from his arm.
How cute is this?

Is that the face of an angel of what?

Hand tucked up under his chin. I think that he is practicing his Thinking Pose.

Trying to capture a picture of his "Zoolander Face". This isn't quite it, but close. I'll keep working on getting the shot.

Announcing the arrival of Miles Owen Russell

As most of you already know, Miles Owen Russell arrived on June 29th at 12:24 in the afternoon. A little bit earlier than his due date of July 10. He was 6 lbs 14.7 oz and 18" long. Here are a few pictures from our stay at the hospital. My awesome friend Heather was a wonderful assistant labor coach (adding to Ryan's already wonderful coaching) and she was generous enough to take some beautiful pictures at the birth for us. I will post some of those when I get the files, but here are a few pics for now. You can also check out her website at www.oliviercompany.com the pictures are currently posted there. Go to client proofing and the password is "Miles". She did an amazing job.
Miles in his adorable hat that is huge on him because he is so tiny.
Hanging out with his very tired mommy.
Here is the proud daddy.

And Noni (Grandma Shoemaker). I can't tell if she is about to cry or not in this picture.

A slightly more alert close up.
